Systems

ET systems are sets of devices designed to detect surface and near-surface discontinuities in electrically conductive materials, allowing the identification of cracks, corrosion, perforations, inclusions, wall thickness reduction (e.g., due to corrosion or erosion), deformations, and other anomalies. These systems are based on the principle of electromagnetic induction: they generate eddy currents in the tested component, and changes in the electromagnetic field caused by a defect are detected by probes and analyzed.

The advantage of ET lies in its high-speed and highly precise inspection capabilities — the method allows for both automatic and manual testing, making it suitable, for example, for production-line quality control in industrial settings. ET is particularly effective where detection of surface or near-surface defects is required, often serving as an alternative to surface-based methods such as penetrant testing (PT) or magnetic particle testing (MT).
