During this year’s International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO), the company Casp System Sp. z o.o. signed a letter of intent that opens the way to further research and development work.
The letter of intent defines cooperation between ZPS GAMRAT Sp. z o.o. (Polish Armaments Group), the Silesian University of Technology, and Casp System Sp. z o.o. The cooperation between the parties aims to create innovative technological solutions, increase the efficiency and quality of inspection processes, and develop competencies and technologies enabling their practical application in research and industrial activities.
One of the goals is to develop a solution using artificial intelligence to analyze images from non-destructive testing conducted at the ZPS GAMRAT Non-Destructive Testing Center. AI is intended to support inspectors in analyzing large volumes of X-ray scans, helping to increase the speed, repeatability, and effectiveness of product quality assessment. At the same time, work will be carried out on the possibility of implementing spatial reconstruction algorithms to obtain tomographic images of the tested products.
The planned work represents a further stage in the development of the ZPS GAMRAT Non-Destructive Testing Center, launched in May of this year by Casp System on the premises of ZPS GAMRAT. It is the most advanced facility of its kind in the Polish Armaments Group, equipped with advanced research infrastructure enabling comprehensive analyses and quality control of products. The Non-Destructive Testing Center was built by Casp System Sp. z o.o. in the span of 9 months, which posed a major challenge.
The project will also allow for closer cooperation between Casp System and the Silesian University of Technology in terms of competencies related to the development of software and AI algorithms, as well as the development of non-destructive testing systems for solutions for the defense and aerospace industries.
The agreement signed during MSPO is another step in the implementation of Casp System Sp. z o.o.’s development strategy. “We are consistently investing in development and industrial research, as well as cooperation with the scientific community.”
The signed letter of intent confirms the commitment of all parties to the development of innovation and the building of a partnership combining the potential of industry, science, and modern technologies to strengthen the national defense sector.
